Battle on the San Jacinto

The Battle on the San Jacinto is a great race to get the new racing season on the right track.  This year we have a special award for the fastest plastic boat being offered by Spirit Paddle Sports USA. It does not matter which class you race in, the fastest time posted in a plastic boat will be awarded this prize.

2012 Race Updates

Date and Time:

Feb. 25, 2012 with a 10am start at Good Times Marina. 9:45am pre-race meeting on course and safety.

Course:
Length : 7.5 miles - paddle  to the 3rd bridge, turn left around any pylon and paddle back past the start, turn around the same buoy and back to the finish/start. See the map image on the Race Info page.

About the Course
We have planned a loop course on the San Jacinto River below the Lake Houston Dam for our 2010 race.

All classes start in the water on February 25th at 10am. Paddlers will head down river to Banana Bend Park and turn counter-clockwise at the 5 mph buoy then back to Good Times Marina for catfish. See course map images below. 1st place awards for each class. Register here! Please note that there will be a $10 fee due on race day to cover launch fees and USCA insurance for paddlers.
